In Elizabethan England the celebration on the twelfth day of Christmas was merrymaking at its finest and Shakespeare’s play Twelfth Night was written for the close of the Christmas season. Who will be crowned the Lord of Misrule and the Queen of Competence? It could be you!

The Élan Ensemble is in-residence at the Hammond-Harwood House and performs music from the 17th–19th centuries in historic venues and museums, bringing modern audiences into the spirit of the musical and social world of past eras.
